[Jimmy's looking a lot better than he did last time he was broadcasting. He's sitting on a couch, and it doesn't look like he's been hitting the sauce.]
So...how does a guy who's never had a real job get himself a real job?
I don't need nothing fancy, just something that pays at the end of the week, you know? I can haul boxes or sweep a floor, I know options aren't great for a guy with no education and no normal work experience.
[But he's not going to be some moocher, he's gonna pay rent and buy food and be able to get things fixed when they broke. All that kinda stuff a guy ought to do.]
But everybody's always telling me how that doesn't matter here, so I figure there's gotta be options!

Sure.

I had just arrived in Goldenrod and didn't have a penny to my name.
[For reasons.]
So I simply put out the call! I asked what needed doing and wouldn't you know it, someone got to me right away. I became a secretary and errand boy for the Goldenrod Breeding Center.

Hey, talk about luck. Think I'd be a crap secretary, though, I can't write!

You're in Celadon still, right? Maybe ask at the department store. They could probably use some more help with moving stuff around or cleaning up, since it's so busy. You'll probably get even more openings if you can work nights or mornings since a lot of people don't want to do those times.

I've kinda ended up in a house in Goldenrod. I wasn't planning on settling down, but a friend of mine ended up needing a roommate. That's why I'm looking for a job now, I want to contribute and everything.
But there's a department store here, too, I think...
But yeah, you might try asking there. I've been doing some cashiering jobs and stuff like that since I'm not really the one you want moving around heavy stuff, but I sleep either at the circus or just out of town if the weather's nice enough, so I don't have to worry about rent.

It's easy to get used to what they want you to do, too! Anna and I don't have any sort of experience with jobs like that, and we caught on pretty quick.

I figure I can do loading work easy, or janitor stuff.

Well, the PokeMarts could always use people to work in the stockrooms, I'm sure. Or even the big shopping center in Goldenrod; that would probably be a better place to look first.

[He was also barely a step up from catatonic, but that's obviously irrelevant.]
Department Stores and the lighthouse pay particularly well without requesting credentials, but that would restrict the number of cities in which you could live.
I guess I'll just check out places around, see who's hiring and for what. And if they'll take a chance on me. Thanks.

[The moment he mentioned he had prior experience as a barista they pretty much hired him on the spot. Apparently they had trouble keeping long-term workers, especially since trainers were always on the go.]
And there are a lot of other places you could look. Someone told me once that the people here expect for trainers to move between jobs a lot anyway since they have to travel, so they're used to it.
I don't plan on traveling anytime soon, maybe that'll be a feather in my hat!

[ This is coming from the guy who counts "experience" as working 4 different jobs in two months cause he can't keep one for over a week. ]

Re: video
...why do you want one, anyway? We can make money off battles and that's so much better.

With so many people constantly on the move, your usual places like the Marts and the Centers are almost always looking for temp workers.
And the only thing I've ever seen 'em take issue with is if you leave early, they're usually fine if you wanna stick around longer than the two weeks or however long the contract says.
I've never seen 'em want references or anything, either... they're pretty used to random Trainers needing some side cash to supplement the whole training lifestyle shit.
I don't plan on moving on any time soon, I'm just getting settled in Goldenrod.

[A pause.]
Uh-- word of advice... try not to get hired on the fifth floor.
Just.
Just a tip.

Never thought it could be that easy to get a job!

But they're not too hard, either. I've been filing papers for whatever Center I'm near for years now, and it's almost more research than anything.
