Everybody's talking about Valentine's Day coming up...
[And Jimmy's confused as hell, which is clear from his expression.]
How is that even here? This is like some whole other planet, how come an Earth holiday is celebrated?
And there's other stuff, too. It took me a little bit to realize it, but there's lots of stuff that's pretty familiar. Not the same, but close, you know? You'd think there'd be all kinds of differences. Not that this place ain't weird, it's weird as hell, but... come on, you get what I mean.
[Or at least he hopes other people from Earth get it. He's still trying to come to terms with the fact that all of this is real, but he's reached a point where he can start paying close attention to this wacky world he's ended up in.]

Cultures don't shift this much, this fast. It's only been a few years. If you Earth people brought Valentine's with you, I don't think it'd be all over the place like this.

But there's native people here who aren't from other worlds. And they aren't Poke...mon....

And how do we know they're even native? What if the magic Pokemon brought a bunch of people here thousands of years ago, too, and all the people here are their descendants?

That...might...what if that's what we're here for? What if they decided they needed more people and that's why they're bringing us here?

We just...get knocked out and wake up a few days later at the hospital, don't ask me how THAT works. And I don't think the turning into Pokemon thing happens every time.
[But it's actually considerably less fucked up than dying and then coming back as a homunculus, because at least Edmund seems pretty okay with it. So Envy is not quite as horrified as Jimmy.]

Maybe one of those other people who should be here will get here some day. My sister showed up after I'd already been here four years, and she's one of those people who should get this kind of chance.
