Hey, who's been to Mt. Mortar?

Any advice for a coupe of guys headed that way to catch some Pokemon?

[After looking into it, it looks like that's their best bet. And it's not even really far away. But he's got no idea what they're headed into, and considering he's taking a kid with him, he figures he ought to ask about his current selected destination.]

And, uh, any advice on catching Pokemon in general. I never done it before.

That depends on what kind of Pokemon you're looking for.

But as for catching a Pokemon, that much is simple; you weaken it by engaging it in a battle, and once it's weak enough you can try to capture it. Status afflicting moves such as Toxic or Thunder Wave make it easier, as well.

You'll find your fair share of fire types in Mt. Mortar, then. A majority of Pokemon there are.

Do you know if you have a Pokemon with moves like those?

Confusion doesn't last like other status ailments do, but if you're quick it would probably suffice.

Is there a reason you are looking for fire types in particular?

I see. You should find them there, then. If not Charmander, then something similar.

[Charmander would have to be pretty rare, he assumes, since it was always a starter before.]
