Okay, so battling's a big deal and everything here. I still think that's pretty messed up, but what do I know about Pokemon? Not much, I only been here so many months. I haven't really thrown myself into it, I just do friendly stuff to keep my Pokemon happy and healthy. But I'm starting to get into it.

[Jimmy's a competitive guy, and after drying out, the Battling Bug's starting to grip him hard. But he knows damn well that two Pokemon does not a sleek battling team make.]

So I'm wondering how you build up a solid team, you know? I've been going over my 'gear all day, but I don't even know where to start. How do you know what other kinds of Pokemon you ought to get? How tough is it taming a wild Pokemon? My two weren't wild. Do wild caught Pokemon do better in battles, or a Pokemon hatched and raised to be part of a specific team?

[He throws up his hands and shakes his head at the 'gear screen.]

I'm totally friggin' lost.

If you don't have a blue Pokemon yet, you should probably get one.

Blue is important.

I don't got a blue one. I got two orange ones. Orange-ish.

...and the next one I'm thinking of getting is orange, too. Damn, maybe I do need a blue one...

Oh, you DEFINITELY need a blue one then!

Before I got Sleepy, mine were mostly brown, green, and purple. I guess Pipsqueak is a LITTLE blue, but he's mostly purple.

You should get a blue tube dog like Sleepy.

She's the best.

Or at least a not-orange one.

What kind of Pokemon is she? What can she do? Like...whatsits. Moves and stuff. Cause Omi beats things real good, and Lenore...I dunno, she does weird ghost mind stuff. But she's not a ghost. She's just...got ghost powers.

[Really. He totally does not own a ghost, because that is way too weird for him.]

Well, she's REAL good at swimming. Like, probably better than a fish even.

And she can shoot water out of her mouth.

Like spitting, except way better than I can spit.

At least five times better.

Okay, so I guess she's a water type. I think....I dunno, the whole thing confuses the hell out of me.

That's pretty impressive spitting.

She can spit all the way across the ROOM if she wants.

It's magnificent.

But there's lots of water Pokemon. You don't have to get one like her.

Bet she drinks a lot of water, huh?

Yeah, people keep telling me I ought to have one of the major types each. I was thinking about a Charmander next. Little fire dino would go pretty well with what I've already got.

Ahuh.

I don't think I've seen a... Charrrmandr before. I don't have any who have fire either...

But fire's pretty important, too.

_{[He pauses there, enthusiasm fading slightly. He presses his fingers together.]}

Like... for if you get attacked by plants...

They're little orange dino guys with fire on their tail. Pretty neat looking. They evolve into big dragon dudes.

Hey, yeah! Plants are weak against fire. I remember that.

Yeah...

I don't have any fire types. So plants are a problem.

Looks like you need a fire guy of your own!

...hey, you've caught Pokemon, right?

Ahuh.

I caught Stinky Phil and Jelly all by myself.

I've never caught one, and I'm kinda worried I'll mess it up.

How about we go out together and get ourselves a couple of fire guys? Then you'll be all safe from plants.

_{[Wrath's face lights up, splitting into a big ol sharp-toothed grin.]

I gotta figure out where they are, but when I do, we'll make a plan to have ourselves a little vacation. How's that sound?

That sounds so good! I can't wait! We'll catch ALL the fire Pokemon, won't we, Jimmy?!
