Hey, who's been to Mt. Mortar?
Any advice for a coupe of guys headed that way to catch some Pokemon?
[After looking into it, it looks like that's their best bet. And it's not even really far away. But he's got no idea what they're headed into, and considering he's taking a kid with him, he figures he ought to ask about his current selected destination.]
And, uh, any advice on catching Pokemon in general. I never done it before.

But as for catching a Pokemon, that much is simple; you weaken it by engaging it in a battle, and once it's weak enough you can try to capture it. Status afflicting moves such as Toxic or Thunder Wave make it easier, as well.

I'm sure people are already telling you about battling them and throwing balls, but you know how I always seem to wind up with new Pokemon? They just decide to follow me until I keep them.
Whatever you're after, just act like you're not interested and you'll be covered in them.
