[Jimmy pops out of the room for a minute, and when he returns, he's carrying a bowl of mixed candy, Annie following after. All he'd told her was that Murder Chicken was visiting.]
[A Blaziken doing a double take is a sight behold, and both Jimmy and Krieg are treated to just that when Annie gets a look at the other fire Pokemon, all grown up. And what a fine specimen he's grown up into...]
Candy it is! I just got one of those big variety bags at the department store, I dunno what's even in here.
[There are a number of different, brightly colored wrappers in the bowl, promising a good selection of different candy types.]
Looks like you had plans before everything went nuts.
[Jimmy's assuming that the big guy hadn't just worn a costume for the hell of it, but hey, who knows?]
[Murder Chicken stands up very straight and tall when he sees Annie, his disappointment at being too tall for head-pats completely forgotten at the sight of her. He'd admired her before, naturally, but for some reason, she looks even more fantastic from his new height. After a very brief pause to recover from such an unexpected, stunning entrance, he walks right up to her to say hello.
Krieg is only marginally aware of his buddy's starstruck reaction to the sight of Annie, because Jimmy has busted out the promised candy and that's what he's all about.]
Went trick-or-treating with Angel!
[He pauses then, blinking and fidgeting as he realizes just how sidetracked he'd become from looking for her.]
...Lost her somewhere.
[Boy did he ever. He drops his gaze as he fidgets a moment while he reconciles that knowledge with his present situation. After a beat or so, he looks back up into Jimmy's face to conclude:]
Hey, don't worry about it, I'm sure she's fine! Once the excitement calms down, that's it. Happens every year.
[Annie preens some, as the trainers talk. Murder Chicken's grown up well. Jimmy's not paying much attention to the Pokemon, he's just delighted that Krieg's dropped by to see him.]
And I sit it out every year! Have a seat, take a load off! Have some candy!
[Jimmy sets the bowl down on the coffee table and flops on the couch.]
[Annie's not the only one preening; MC is preening right along with her, very interested in keeping up the excellent impression he's made so far. She's even more fantastic than he remembers!
Krieg, meanwhile, is reassured, because, seriously, how can he not be, with Jimmy doing the reassuring? Some of his nerves dissipate and he reaches up to unfasten the buckle of his mask, since Jimmy's reassurances also come with encouragement to eat.]
Whiny pissbabies try to hijack the radio every year?
[Why didn't anyone mention this before? Krieg sits when he's invited to and snags some candy from the proffered bowl.]
Not that exactly, but something always happens. Last year there was some...I dunno, crazy powerful Pokemon that messed with the laws of physics and a bunch of people had to go fight these mutant pokemon...
[Jimmy throws up his hands.]
It gets crazy every year, man. But then everything's fine, and we always win. Sometimes we gotta clean up after, but...
[He shrugs, grabbing a handful of candy. It's just part of life here, and it's only once a year.]
[He fumbles for a moment or so with the candy wrapper, fingers too big for such a delicate task, but he rips it off in the end and pops the candy - a teeny little fun-sized chocolate bar - into his mouth. He then continues the conversation with his mouth full, because what are manners, seriously?]
Home is always crazy, too.
[He chews thoughtfully and swallows before adding:]

More murder and fewer cockfights though.
