I noticed the date today, and it hit me...

Holy shit, I been here over a year.

A whole year. I don't think I ever stayed a whole year in the same place before. I kinda figured I'd wake up back home one day before that happened, you know?

But I'm still here. I missed my birthday.

But I got a house. And a whole bunch of friends. More friends that I ever had, hell. And a job! A real job.

[In short, a better life than he's ever had back in the traveling show.]

It's funny. I still miss some people from home, but...

I dunno if I wanna go back anymore.

Yeah, that's it! I mean...I think I'd give pretty much anything of my own to have Evie around. She's my best friend. I wish she could have this, too.

We used to go to movies together, cause we look pretty normal in low light, and we'd always talk about having a normal life.

That's so sweet! I miss my friend from home too, I bet she'd absolutely love it here! ...Um, probably, anyway. The lack of weapons might be an issue.

Eve and me, we're thick as thieves. She's a great lady.

Back home, I was known as The Amazing Lobster Boy. But put on a pair of mitten gloves and nobody can tell. And Eve's just crazy tall. Tallest woman in the whole world, probably, and strong as hell.

[Sort of, anyway. She can definitely see the resemblance to lobster claws, at least.]

I think a lotta people feel the same way. Even with the strange things.... This place is pretty nice.
